WI DNR Puts Little Effort Into Weekly Air Quality Tips

For the week of June 30, 2013: 
"Happy Birthday to the USA! Fireworks are a part of the festivities on the 4th of July. Yes they do cause air pollution, but the smoke is localized and dissipates quickly. See more information on fireworks."

...the smoke is localized and disperses quickly causing little harm...unless your next door neighbor decides to put on his own pyrotechnic display, which is illegal, but those laws apparently aren't enforced anymore. For my neighbor, July 4th is a day to get drunk and unleash a cloud of toxic chemicals. I would leave town for the holiday except that I am afraid the fool would burn my house down.
