16th hound killed in WI by wolves this year

The DNR says by email this afternoon the bear hunting dog ran into Iron County from MI. A second dog was injured. Are the owners eligible for the WI reimbursements of up to $2,500 pet dog killed by wolves?

Bear hunting and gun lobbies pushed through the payment system and hunting laws allowing off-leash training and hunting pursuit of bears through areas of known wolf activity.

Even in areas with bear bait legally placed by hunters that can attract wolves.
