The WI DNR says, 'Plant an Arbor Day tree,' but...

It also recently gave preliminary approval for a sand mine operation to cut down a pristine stand of timber and may allow cutting of about 150 acres of trees to turn much of a rare-dune-wetland-and-native artifact rich 247-acre nature preserve adjoining Kohler Andrea State Park into parking, buildings and 18 holes of high-end greens and fairways.

Is Arbor Day and its message just for children?

What about the mature trees we have and which are clearly at risk with this iteration of the DNR under the sway of right-wing GOP Governor, mining enthusiast and golf course enabler Scott Walker?

17 million acres of forestland cover nearly half of the state. Leave a legacy and plant a tree for
